Escaping Rooms to Build Bonds

Health News

Spending time with family and friends is an important part of everyone’s lives. Building bonds just requires you to spend time with those you care about doing new or old things. Great new things that have been getting a lot of buzz this year are escape rooms. They require a group of people to work together solving puzzles to get out of a room in a given amount of time. It is a great bonding experience for families, friends, or even coworkers. Escape rooms require team work and help those who participate in forming a strong bond and creating great memories.

Escape rooms were inspired by the infamous computer game “point and click” from the 80’s. The first escape room was created in Kyoto developed by Takao Kato a gamer and manga fan from Japan. Kato was wondering why his life wasn’t ever as interesting as the stories he read in books or played in games. He wanted to create his own adventure world and then invited others to participate and be a part of it. Kato’s idea of a Real Escape Game (REG) was a huge hit and built momentum around the globe. Soon it wasn’t just one establishment in Japan, there were new escape rooms being built everywhere. The escape rooms are modeled after anything and everything engaging a large audience to participate in the new phenomenon.

No matter who enters the escape room the people who leave always come out with new-found bonds and great memories. A group of usually 5-6 people are locked into a themed room for about one hour. The goal is to solve different puzzles and find clues to eventually locate a key to unlock the door to freedom. If you don’t find the key don’t worry you are not stuck in the room until the end of time, you can leave. Escape rooms don’t just help to build bonds they also require the group to work together in communication, critical thinking, attention to detail, delegation, and problem solving. There are tons of different rooms to choose from: pirate ships, ghost towns, video game immersion, and some even based off movies and books. Anyone can find a room suited to their tastes with over 2,800 permanent escape rooms worldwide. Don’t be afraid to shop around for the perfect room. Time is the most valuable thing you can give to a person, so why not spend some extra time with those you love. Visit an escape room to build better bonds and create new memories. Get a group of your friends, family, or even coworkers together and try it out for yourself. Don’t just settle for the boring old activities of sitting in a dark theater silent watching a movie or spending money you don’t have out shopping. Do something together out of your comfort zone.
